Dwell Skin Bian Stone Contoured Spoon Set
I’m excited to bring a tool to my shop that I first owned personally and then (because they are such a joy to use and give beautiful results) set about sourcing.
A staple shape in traditional Chinese Gua Sha tools, these spoons have both a flat and curved side to the paddle, an elegant narrow handle and an acupressure tip. I have called them Contoured Spoons to reflect that they are contoured in their form. But, they also beautifully follow the contours of the face and neck too.
Dwell Skin Bian Stone Contoured Spoons (set of 2) can be used for Gua Sha employing the edge of the spoon, the flat paddle surface smooths and cinches facial fascia, whilst the rounded side of the paddle is perfect for facial massage. The balled-tip accesses facial acupressure points and can be zig-zagged through the hair from the hairline to the nape of neck to stimulate the scalp.
Bian Stone has a long history of use in TCM and anecdotally is believed to be a healing stone emitting far-infrared radiation and negative ions. These properties are thought to have a therapeutic effect promoting circulation, reducing pain whilst calming and supporting the body’s natural healing process. Scientific research on Bian Stone to support these claims is limited.
Dwell Skin Bian Stone Contoured Spoons are made of high quality Bian Stone with a silky smooth feel and a highly polished surface.
PLEASE NOTE: if you are using these facial tools professionally and sanitising in medical grade detergent and/or isopropyl alcohol, over time you may notice the high shine polish becomes more matte. This does not affect the feel/use of the tool at all. The spoon still remains perfectly smooth. Refer to the last photograph in the product album which shows one of the spoons in my kit where this effect is visible. Bare this in mind when purchasing as no refunds can be offered for wear to the polished surface.
